CFC is Hiring! Join our Team!

Updated: Oct 20, 2021

Comfort Food Community is currently hiring for our Food Recovery Manager role.

The Food Recovery Manager will work closely with the Food Recovery Assistant, other CFC Program staff, and Volunteers to recover fresh food from farms and local food vendors and to distribute food in innovative ways, while increasing individuals’ food knowledge and promoting healthy habits. They will further the movement towards addressing food insecurity with healthy food in a way that also support local agriculture.

The position is ideal for a candidate that enjoys a balance of manual labor, critical thinking and problem solving, and administrative work. They will be out in farm fields in all types of weather and will need to have the strength and physical stamina to harvest food - loading, unloading and generally handling hundreds of lbs. of food at a time. They will enjoy building and maintaining strong relationships with the people that are critical to the Fresh Food Collective’s success – farmers, volunteers, consumers, other CFC staff members and the community at large. They will have an entrepreneurial spirit, with an eye for process improvement, program development and an ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

This individual will have a large degree of freedom to create new paths for the Fresh Food Collective, but will respect the constraints of time, budget and other organizational priorities in pursuit of those new paths.
