Who We Are
Comfort Food Community uses the power of good food to eliminate hunger, support the local food economy and build strong, healthy communities.
Comfort Food Community (CFC) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that supports
Food Access, Food Recovery, and Food as Health throughout Washington, Warren, and Saratoga counties.
We provide fresh, wholesome food through our dynamic operation of programs including:
Food Pantries, Supplemental Student Nutrition, the Fresh Food Collective, Community Health,
and Edible Education.
Comfort Food Community works with farmers and grocery stores to recover excess produce and food products with the goal of eliminating food waste, supporting our local agricultural economy, and distributing good food to those in need. At CFC, we recognize that healthy nutrition does not end with food access. Through our work focusing on food as health, we aim to provide individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to maintain healthy diets and lifestyle choices. CFC strives to break down systemic barriers by engaging entire communities through food and nutrition education, wellness coaching and health resource navigation.
Comfort Food Community is critical in the fight to ending food insecurity and building a
strong, sustainable local food system.
The mission of Comfort Food Community is to contribute to the health of our community through the inspirational power of good food.

Interested in joining our community?
Comfort Food Community believes that food has the power to bring people together. Whether it is at our pantries, in the garden, or around the table sharing a meal, food offers the opportunity to build relationships with community members from all walks of life.
Our volunteers are the beating heart of this organization. We could not meet the needs of the community without their support. We could not make our community a healthier place without their passion.
