Food Pantry Services at Comfort Food Community

Providing access to real, wholesome food is the guiding principle at Comfort Food Community.

It is through our local food pantries that we are able to offer a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for members of our community from all walks of life.

CFC strives to provide as much fresh and healthy food as possible. Our most recent calculation showed that a family of 4 can save up to $165 per week by “shopping” at the pantry.

Greenwich Food Pantry

The Greenwich Food Pantry located within our Food Center offers three weekly services allowing households

the opportunity to 'shop' 1x per week.

Days and Hours:

Monday: 4 – 7 PM

Wednesday: 9 – 11 AM and 4 – 7 PM

Location:

2530 Rte 40, Greenwich, NY 12834

Eligible guests can attend as often as once per week.

Eligibility:

Must be a resident of the Greenwich School District or live in the Town of Greenwich or Easton (follow this link and check the “school district” box in the table of contents to look up your address). New guests are expected to bring some form of documentation to verify their address within their first couple of visits. Examples of acceptable documents include lease agreements, mortgage agreements, mail date stamped within the last 60 days, or a license with your current address. You do not need to be receiving any form of government benefit – we know that income doesn’t tell the whole story.

Selection:

We follow the NYS Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Program’s guidelines for three days worth of meals (click here to view their chart). Food selection includes meat, dairy, eggs, grains, fresh bread and produce, and a range of non-perishable food items.

Non-food selection includes important household staples such as paper products, personal hygiene items, feminine hygiene, household cleaning products and more.

Cossayuna Food Pantry

In an effort to reduce the distance the households in outlying areas of our community need to travel to receive emergency food assistance, CFC operates a satellite food pantry site at the Cossayuna Fire Department.

Day and Hours:

Tuesdays from 3:30 – 5:30 P.M.

Location:

Cossayuna Fire Department, 21 Bunker Hill Rd.

Eligible guests can attend as often as once per week.

Eligibility:

Guests to the pantry must live within the Cossayuna Fire District or Argyle Election District 3.

Selection:

We offer the full range of items that are available in the Greenwich pantry at our mobile site, as well.
