September is Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month, a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about hunger and inspiring action so everyone has access to the nutritious food they need.

Across our communities — in the rural communities surrounded by farmland, in our schools, in our workplaces, and in our own neighborhoods — people are feeling the effects of rising costs. Fresh vegetables are left out of grocery carts; choices are made between medication, food, and rent.

That’s why Comfort Food Community’s food access and food-as-health programs meet people where they are, helping remove barriers to fresh, nutritious food like transportation challenges and income requirements.

But we can’t do it alone

Time and time again, we’ve been reminded of what can happen when we come together. We’re able to bring fresh, local food, directly to 160 people each week during the summer Free Food Run. We can deliver weekend meals to over 40 families through our Supplemental Student Nutrition program, even when school is out. We can make sure that people can still get the nutritious fruits and vegetables that they love through our Produce Prescription Programs. We can create spaces where people feel welcomed and seen.

This month let’s see what else we can do together. Will you join us?

Ways to get involved this month

All you have to do is purchase something from Chipotle anytime between 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and show the cashier the flyer here, or use the Promo Code QBWLDR when ordering online.
