Comfort Food Community (CFC) is proud to announce the successful expansion of the Farm 2 Library program, marked by a series of celebrations held at new participating libraries throughout the region.

Each event brought together Board Members, Trustees, staff, volunteers, community members, and local leaders, including representatives from Mayor John Stafford’s office and elected officials such as Sen. Jim Tedisco, to recognize the growth and impact of the program.
The expansion represents a significant step forward in increasing access to fresh, nutritious food while strengthening community connections. “One thing that I absolutely love is that your program has built a community. We all gather at the library each week and share stories, recipes, and so much more,” said a Farm 2 Library participant.
It would not have been possible without the partnership of the Southern Adirondack Library System, whose support has been instrumental since the program’s inception. Comfort Food Community also extends its gratitude to the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Ballston Spa Public Library, and Round Lake Library – Malta Branch for their collaboration and commitment to serving their communities.
Libraries have long been trusted spaces for connection, learning, and support. Through the Farm 2 Library program, they now serve as access points for fresh, nutritious food—helping to reduce barriers and strengthen community well-being. “When we come together as a community – with dignity, kindness, and a shared commitment to one another – we begin to create real, lasting change. As we cut this ribbon, we’re not just opening an expanded space. We’re opening the door to more possibility, more connection, and more shared moments,” said Laura Marx, Executive Director of Comfort Food Community, during her speech.

Comfort Food Community thanks all partners, supporters, and community members who made this expansion possible and looks forward to continuing to grow the program’s reach and impact.
