Comfort Food Community (CFC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Greenwich, NY that supports individuals and our community by providing access to fresh, wholesome food throughout Washington, Warren and Saratoga counties. The Development Manager position is a mission driven position dedicated to engaging individuals, businesses, foundations, and other financial resources in the goals of CFC. The Development Manager will join a fast-growing, innovative team and contribute to ambitious fundraising efforts.
The Development Manager (DM), working in partnership with the Executive Director, President of the Board, staff and Fundraising Committee, is responsible for raising funds in support of the mission, programs and operations of Comfort Food Community. By building relationships with individuals, businesses and corporations, foundations (private and government), and community groups, the DM will be an integral team member in building sustainable financial support for the work of CFC.
The DM will be responsible for database management and development and execution of the standards for the CFC fundraising process.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred field of studies include communications, marketing, business, or another related field
Two to four years of experience in the field of nonprofit fundraising
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and be an integral part of a team, including people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience
Experience with or understanding of annual fund campaigns and individual donor work
Detail-oriented, concerned with data integrity and accuracy
Experience in database management, gift processing, and donor relations
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe, including maximizing the use and capabilities of the programs/systems
Prior experience and comfort producing a wide range of reports and queries
Experience planning and coordinating events
Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed
Work Environment
Office hours are generally Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some remote work possible.
Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance.
Position Details
Employee Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $42,000 - $50,000
