Location: Greenwich, NY

Pay: $20/hour

Schedule: As needed

Employment Type: Per Diem (Temporary, No Benefits)

 

Make a difference—one delivery at a time. Comfort Food Community (CFC) is looking for a reliable and mission-driven Per Diem Driver to support our Food Recovery & Access Programs. This position helps recover surplus fresh food from local farms and deliver it to community distribution sites. If you’re a safe driver who enjoys purposeful work and flexible hours, this role is for you!

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Pick up and deliver fresh produce and dry goods between farms and food access partners.

· Load and unload items safely and efficiently.

· Operate manual and electric pallet jacks (training provided).

· Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and follow all safety protocols.

· Communicate clearly with staff to ensure smooth operations and deliveries.

 

Requirements:

· Clean driving record (no serious infractions in past 3 years).

· Experience driving box trucks and utility vans preferred.

· Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks.

· Willingness to use a personal cell phone during routes to communicate.

· Must pass a driving assessment (maneuvering, loading, safety).

· Dependable, communicative, and community-minded.

 

How It Works:

· Drivers are contacted as needs arise—accept shifts based on your availability.

· Once confirmed, you’ll be scheduled and paid through CFC’s regular payroll cycle.
