We're Hiring: Outreach & Education Coordinator
Greenwich, NY | Full-Time, $21–$23/hr + benefits

Do you believe that everyone deserves access to nourishing food and the knowledge to prepare it? Are you passionate about community health, nutrition, and resource equity? Comfort Food Community (CFC) is seeking a full-time Education and Outreach Coordinator to join our dynamic Community Health Team!

This role is ideal for a mission-driven individual who enjoys blending hands-on food education with community outreach and resource navigation. You’ll help build healthier communities by facilitating workshops, leading food demonstrations, developing educational content, and coordinating meaningful outreach activities across Washington, Warren, and Saratoga Counties.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and facilitate culinary and nutrition education through food demos, workshops, and Healthy Meal Kits

  • Develop engaging educational resources focused on seasonal, affordable cooking and healthy eating

  • Provide resource navigation to individuals seeking services—from food access to housing and SNAP enrollment

  • Maintain program data and evaluation records across multiple platforms

  • Build partnerships with local educators, farmers, and service providers

  • Represent CFC at community events, farmers’ markets, and working groups

  • Support pantry services and emergency food responses

  • Work collaboratively across teams to promote health equity and community resilience

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, education, or a related field preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in nutrition education, health promotion, or outreach (internships count!)

  • Experience working with diverse or underserved communities

  • Strong presentation, communication, and curriculum development skills

  • Knowledge of basic nutrition, chronic disease prevention, and food budgeting

  • Comfortable with community engagement, group facilitation, and public speaking

  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office, Canva, and Teams

  • Spanish language skills are a plus!

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

This role includes a mix of office, warehouse, and field work. You should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs, working in hot/cold environments (like coolers or outdoor events), and using pallet jacks or larger vehicles. Occasional evening or weekend work for outreach or events may be required.

Why Join Us?

At CFC, you’ll be part of a passionate team committed to nourishing neighbors and strengthening community health. You’ll play a key role in shaping inclusive, empowering food access programs that respond to real needs—rooted in compassion, strategy, and local voice.
