Sarah grew up in Cambridge, New York. After graduating from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, then graduate school at Temple University in Philadelphia with a degree in Visual Communication, she was recruited by Hallmark Cards Corporate in Kansas City as a designer. When she and her husband had their first child, they moved back to New York State, where Sarah became an art director in Albany and an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at The College of Saint Rose. After her second child, they bought a house in Cambridge to be near family. She was glad to be back home.
As much as Sarah enjoyed teaching and getting designers ready for the real world, she also enjoyed being an entrepreneur. She has started and run businesses, including a design firm, a beagle magazine, and a home décor product business. Over the years, she has helped several start-ups with graphic design and marketing consultations.
Sarah has always been an artist. She was the kid on the playground with a sketchbook making nature observations. When not in the studio, Sarah has painted murals and several theater sets for high school productions. She developed kids and adult programming for creative workshops for Salem Art Works in Salem, NY, where she was the Program Director.
Now Sarah is an empty-nester and has started her encore career as a driver. At Comfort Food Community, she loves driving in the beautiful countryside and getting to know everyone along the way. Sarah always wanted to work for a business that positively impacts the community. In her spare time, she plays pickleball, tutors students K-12, kayaks, hikes, and tends to her perennial garden and blackberry bramble.
