Jeffrey Bowers has been a resident of Washington County, NY since 2003 where he owned and operated a successful goat dairy farm and cheese making operation. His products were distributed throughout the Saratoga Springs/Glens Falls area via small retailers and local farmers’ markets. He was a member of the American Dairy Goat Association, and his herd of pure-bred Nubian dairy goats was highly acclaimed for its outstanding genetics. He was instrumental in creating the Washington County Cheese Tour along with five other cheese makers. The Cheese Tour continues to be one of the most highly-attended agri-tourism events in the area. Additionally, during this time, he served on the Board and as President of the Saratoga Farmers’ Market Association, helping that non-profit organization grow significantly during his tenure.
Prior to goat dairy farming, Jeffrey pursued a career in marketing and consumer research for 17 years, working for large corporations in the consumer products and financial services industries, including The Clorox Company and CitiGroup. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree in Marketing Research and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Jeffrey currently serves on the Board of Directors of Grassland Bird Trust, a local non-profit organization protecting important bird habitats.
