Meet Our Staff

Originally from Southern Connecticut, Marisa has found a deep sense of purpose through providing healthy food to others and marginalized communities, in-particular. Her experience with organic farming has inspired a passion for working at the intersections of food, the environment, wellness, and social justice. Outside of CFC, Marisa is an artist with many hobbies including foraging, herbalism, podcasts, embodiment, our non-human kin & casual witchery.
Community Health Manager

Mary grew up in Greenwich and after living on the West Coast, in Massachusetts, Michigan, and spending some time travelling abroad, she is happy to be back in the area with her family. Mary has a degree in cultural anthropology and cross-cultural sociology along with years of experience in farming and agriculture management. She is passionate about eliminating hunger and food waste. Mary is also a certified Birth and Post-partum Doula.
Food Recovery Coordinator

Jeff is a Washington County resident and former goat farmer. In addition to his history in goat cheese-making, Jeff is one of the creators of the Washington County Cheese Tour, which is one of the most highly-attended agritourism events in the area. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Saratoga Farmer's Market and Grassland Bird Trust, a local non-profit organization protecting important bird habitats.
Food Center Manager

Over the last two decades, Amie has managed organizations from a state-wide AmeriCorps program to a small, then not-so-small agricultural-based business. Like the tagline to her favorite podcast, Amie believes that "none of us is as smart as all of us." Amie is serving as executive director with this sentiment and is in admiration of the high-quality and dedicated staff at CFC.
Executive Director

An Upstate New York local since adolescence, Sileata lives in Greenwich with her family and two dogs. She has a long history of professional experience in office management, as well as cake decorating, fitness coaching, and working as a stylist and licensed cosmetologist. Sileata enjoys working with people and is excited to share her varied experience and knowledge in support of the CFC mission. Outside of work, Sileata loves to craft and clean.
Office Manager

Sarah is a trained artist from Cambridge, New York. She has worked as a professor of graphic design, as well as started and run several businesses of her own. Working at CFC is an encore career for Sarah, and she loves driving in the beautiful countryside and getting to know everyone along the way. In her spare time, she plays pickleball, tutors students K-12, kayaks, hikes, and tends to her perennial garden and blackberry bramble.
Food Recovery Driver

Christine grew up in Lake George, New York and brings 20 years of experience in professional fundraising, project management, and events production to her position at CFC. She currently resides in North Granville with her husband, Frank Jr. She enjoys spending time with her family, supporting her husband and son at area dirt tracks, taking road trips to local waterfalls and covered bridges, and collecting Christmas blow mold decorations.
Development Manager

With a passion for community service, Sean has dedicated over 20 years to working with various not-for-profits and municipalities in and around Schuylerville. He brings extensive grant writing experience to his position at CFC. In addition to his professional work, Sean is deeply involved in various historical organizations in Saratoga and the surrounding areas. He lives in Quaker Springs with his wife, Deb, and their children Henry and Erin.
Grants Manager

Originally from South Glens Falls, New York, Alyssa lived in Indiana for three years of graduate school studying sociology. She has experience as an undergraduate instructor and research assistant, as well as managing social media for a metaphysical shop. Today, she is a part-time professional tarot card reader and podcaster. Alyssa is excited to combine her love of social service with her passion for connecting with people through social media in her new role!
Communications Coordinator

Raised outside of NYC, Carolyn has always had a passion for home cooked meals and the healing power of food. She moved upstate in 2011 to study political science at Skidmore College and has since been on a mission to help people reconnect with their food. Carolyn has worked at farms, farmers markets, and Caffe Lena. She now lives in Glens Falls with her partner and two dogs and spends her time playing banjo, baking bread, gardening, and foraging.
Nutrition Education Coordinator

Josh has worked in agriculture in one way or another for nearly 10 years, developing education, produce prescription, and farmers market support programs to support low-resource communities and regional producers in order to increase local food options for all. He holds a Masters in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and a Masters in Environmental Studies. Additionally, he is a Ph.D candidate studying the intersection of food, community, and agriculture within rural environments.
Food & Farm Hub Manager

Joanna's meandering path has included stints in light manufacturing, grocery, vegan cooking and, with the most fervor, as a farm hand on various farms in Saratoga, Rensselaer and Washington counties. A passion for food and people has directed her endeavors. When not in the gardens, Joanna enjoys time with her family and friends, cooking, weaving, crafting, reading, bird watching, swimming, running, and listening to music.

Susan is a founding member of CFC and is currently serving as the board president. She retired after a 20-year career in retail management and a 15-year career in nonprofit fundraising and management. For Susan, "community" is the most important part of Comfort Food Community.
